چکیده

Introduction SAHis one of the most common pathology in neurointensive care. There is a complication of SAHcerebral vasospasm (CV), which contributes significant mortality and morbidity. CV is believed to be the origin of Delayed Cerebral Ischemia (DCI). There are different methods to diagnose DCI and CV: neurological exam, MRI, CT, TCD and angiography, but they can’t detect ischemia on early stages of development. EEG is a noninvasive method, detects ischemia on early stages of its development, before clinical signs.

Quantitative continuous EEG for detecting delayed cerebral ischemia in patients with poor-grade subarachnoid hemorrhage.

OBJECTIVE Delayed cerebral ischemia (DCI) due to vasospasm is often undetected by clinical exam in patients with poor-grade subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH). The purpose of this study was to identify quantitative EEG (qEEG) parameters that are most sensitive and specific for the detection of DCI in stuporous or comatose SAH patients. METHODS Of 78 consecutive Hunt-Hess grade 4 or 5 SAH patients ...

سطح سرمی منیزیم و پی‌آمد بالینی خونریزی زیر عنکبوتیه آنوریسمال: مطالعه در 60 بیمار

Background: Hypomagnesemia is commonly encountered in patients with a wide variety of diseases including subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), cardiovascular emergencies, head trauma, migraine attacks, seizure and preeclampsia. It seems to be associated with a poor clinical outcome. This study considers the prevalence and temporal distribution of hypomagnesemia after aneurysmal SAH and its correlation...

CT perfusion for detection of delayed cerebral ischemia in aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage: a systematic review and meta-analysis.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Delayed cerebral ischemia is a significant cause of morbidity and mortality after aneurysmal SAH, leading to poor outcomes. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the usefulness of CTP in determining delayed cerebral ischemia in patients with aneurysmal SAH. MATERIALS AND METHODS We conducted a systematic review evaluating studies that assessed CTP in patients with a...

Endothelin-1 in subarachnoid hemorrhage: An acute-phase reactant produced by cerebrospinal fluid leukocytes.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE The most potent vasoconstrictor known, endothelin-1, is currently considered to mediate cerebral vasospasm in subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), which can cause delayed cerebral ischemia. In our study, we performed clinical and in vitro experiments to investigate the origin and the mechanisms of the secretion of endothelin-1 in SAH. METHODS Endothelin-1 and markers of infla...

Continuous monitoring of cerebrovascular autoregulation after subarachnoid hemorrhage by brain tissue oxygen pressure reactivity and its relation to delayed cerebral infarction.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Disturbances of cerebrovascular autoregulation are thought to be involved in delayed cerebral ischemia and infarction after aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH). We hypothesized that the continuous monitoring of brain tissue oxygen (PtiO(2)) pressure reactivity enables the detection of impaired autoregulation after SAH and that impaired autoregulation is associated wi...
